Chapter 15.40 OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING FACILITIES
15.40.020 Parking space requirements-Nonresidential uses.
The total number of required spaces in E and F zone areas will be based on
the maximum occupancy allowed by the Uniform Building Code, Table No. 33-A,
unless specifically stated otherwise in this chapter.
A. Banks, savings and
loans, or similar financial establishments, one space for each three hundred
square feet of floor area;
B. Bowling alley, six spaces for each lane, plus
one space for each six hundred square feet of floor area;
C. Clinics and
doctor offices, one space for each one hundred fifty square feet of floor
area;
D. Churches, one space for each three seats in the main
sanctuary;
E. Commercial outdoor amusements, thirty spaces plus one
additional space for each one hundred square feet of area in excess of two
thousand square feet;
F. Convalescent homes or homes for the aged, three
spaces for each five beds;
G. Day care centers, one space for every two
hundred square feet of floor area;
H. Gasoline service stations, at least
six spaces;
I. Convenience stores, one parking space for every two hundred
square feet of floor area;
J. High schools, colleges or universities, one
space for each employee, laboratory or instruction area, plus one space for each
four students accommodated at the institution;
K. Hospitals, libraries or
museums, ten spaces plus one space for each three hundred square feet of floor
area;
L. Manufacturing, processing or repair facilities, one space for each
two employees or one space for each one thousand square feet of floor area,
whichever is greater;
M. Offices, general, one space for each two hundred
square feet of floor area;
N. Recreational facilities, private or commercial
areas or buildings (other than listed), one space for every four persons to be
accommodated in the establishment;
O. Restaurants and cafeterias, one space
for each forty-five square feet of usable seating area;
P. Retail or
personal service facilities, one space for each two hundred square feet of floor
area;
Q. Elementary or junior high schools, one space for each employee plus
one space for each four seats in any auditorium, gymnasium or other place of
assembly;
R. Storage and warehousing facilities, one space for each one
thousand square feet of floor area;
S. Theaters, meeting rooms and places of
public assembly, one space for every three seats;
T. Taverns, lounges and
private clubs, one space for each twenty-five square feet, including balconies,
of usable floor area;
U. Furniture or carpet stores, one space for each four
hundred square feet of floor area;
V. Commercial and industrial uses not
listed in subsections A through U of this section, one space for each five
hundred square feet of gross floor area or one space per each two employees,
whichever is greater. (Ord. 1437-93 § 3(part), 1993).
