The Emergency Management Office responds to emergencies, involving hazardous
materials or natural disasters. These responsibilities may include spills
or ruptures of containers transporting or storing hazardous substances,
floods, windstorms, tornadoes, severe hail, extended utility outages or
any other natural or manmade hazard or emergency that affects the health,
welfare or safety of the citizens of Clovis/Curry County.
The Office of Emergency Management also maintains, updates, and exercises
the city/county All Hazard Emergency Operating Plan. The purpose of the
E.O.P. is to plan and prepare for any emergency that taxes the resources
of one or more agencies.
The Office of Emergency Management also opens and coordinates efforts
in the city/county E.O.C. (Emergency Operating Center). In the event of
a disaster or serious emergency, the elected officials or department heads
of the effected agencies, or their designated representatives, all meet
in the E.O.C. which facilitates the coordination of resources needed in
an event of this magnitude.
If you have any questions or would like more information concerning emergency
preparedness/management please call.
