Independence Day Holiday Service Schedule for the City of Clovis

CLOVIS, NM (June 26, 2023) –The following City of Clovis services and departments will be open on Tuesday July 4, 2023:

  • Hillcrest Park Zoo will be open 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • The Splash Pad at Hillcrest Park will be open 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Essential Clovis Police Department and Fire Department personnel will be on duty.
  • Clovis Regional Airport maintenance will be available from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Clovis/Curry County Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring weather services on July 3-4 and can be reached at (575) 763-9494.
  • The City of Clovis Landfill will be open 7:00 a.m – 4:30 p.m.

Residential trash will be collected on Monday, July 3 and Wednesday July 5. If your residential polycart pickup day is normally Tuesday, it will be picked up on Wednesday, July 5.

The following is the City of Clovis schedule for closures in observance of the Independence  Day holiday:

  • City administrative offices
  • Municipal Courts 
  • Clovis Police Records and Police Evidence 
  • Clovis Animal Shelter 
  • Clovis Fire Department Administration Division/Ambulance Billing, Fire Marshal, Training Office and Fire Management Staff
  • Clovis Area Transit System
  • Clovis-Carver Public Library
  • Roy Walker gym
  • Potter Pool and the Aquatic Center
  • Clovis Senior Center
  • Clovis Regional Airport Administrative Officers
  • For water emergencies, please contact EPCOR Water at 763-5536.

The community’s annual Independence Day Firework Spectacular, Smoke on the Water, will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Greene Acres Park, with fireworks expected to start around 9:00 p.m. Visit heymix.com/smoke-on-the-water-2023 for a full event schedule.

In Clovis, road closures will be as follows (please do not use the closed streets for parking):

  • On July 3rd, Main Street between 21st and Purdue will close at 12:00 p.m., reopening at 10:00 p.m. on July 4th.
  • On the 4th of July, the following roads will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    • Mitchell Street from Purdue to 21st Street – Purdue will be closed from Main to Mitchell – 21st from Main to Mitchell.

Residents can still read official city documents, register for a Parks and Recreation program and more whenever City Hall is closed by visiting www.cityofclovis.org. In addition, a self-serve drop box for utility payments (cash/check) is available 24 hours daily outside the main entrance of City Hall.

Requests for non-emergency services such as street repair, graffiti, vandalism, streetlight outages, road sign repair and more can be made directly online with Clovis MyCivic 311.
