Winner Chosen For Wings N’ Wheels T-Shirt Design Contest

Retro Feels Wings N’ Wheels

CLOVIS, NM July 21, 2023 – The Civil Aviation Board chose the winning T-shirt design on Tuesday, Jul 18, 2023. The winning design, entitled “Retro Feels Wings N’ Wheels” was created by Albuquerque’s Danielle Leach.

In her submission, Leach wrote “I wanted to add the main elements of a fly-over, car and airplane in solid design that would pop off the background. New Mexico sunsets and sunrises are unmatched so I used a big bold setting sun. I struggled with whether to make the sun turquoise or a deep yellow orange. Decided to stay with the color used for a retro feel.”

When the Aviation Board reviewed the submissions, they ultimately chose the winner because of the use of color, the design met all of the criteria, and the placement of the antique airplane with the jets and car.

Leach’s design will be featured on the official Wings N’ Wheels t-shirt and the Clovis Regional Airport website & social media. She will receive two free t-shirts and a Wings N’ Wheels & City of Clovis gift basket, V.I.P Parking, recognition at the event and become an honorary car contest judge with the ability to choose her favorite car show entry and present them with a prize.

Second and third place winners were also chosen. Their designs will be used to represent the event in the future. Second place winner was Jazmin Hernandez and third place was D.A. Kerg.

Join us on September 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Clovis Regional Airport for the third annual Wings N’ Wheels event. The event will feature a static air show, car show and military flyover. Food trucks, vendors, a kid zone, prizes and more!
