CITY OF CLOVIS INVITES RESIDENTS/BUSINESSES TO PARTICIPATE IN 2013 YARD OF THE MONTH PROGRAM
For the past several years the City of Clovis has recognized residents and businesses in the community in a Yard of the Month program between June and August of each year. The purpose of the program is to raise pride of ownership in our properties which not only improves the appearance of our community for ourselves, but also acts as an economic development incentive for people and businesses looking at relocating to our area.
Each month during the Yard of the Month program two recipients and one business from each of the four commission districts receives recognition. The recognitions are presented at the second city commission meeting during the months of June, July and August. The public are encouraged to submit nominations for the Yard of the Month program to the City of Clovis through nomination boxes located at various locations including Clovis City Hall, Clovis/Carver Public Library, Citizens Bank of Clovis, Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Curry County Clerk’s Office, Foxy’s Drive In, High Plains Federal Credit Union, La Casa Family Health Center and Western Bank. Nominations may also be submitted by e-mail to administration@cityofclovis.org. Nominations are passed on to the Clovis City Commissioners for each district who choose the winners for each month.
The 2013 Yard of the Month program is being sponsored this year by a grant from New Mexico Clean and Beautiful, Burns Do It All, Guthal’s Nursery and Landscaping, Hamilton Nursery and Landscaping, Lowe’s Home Improvement and the City of Clovis.
