PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT DEALING WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF TUMBLWEEDS FOLLOWING LAST NIGHTS WINDS

Following last night’s winds, which brought a large volume of tumbleweeds into the community, the City of Clovis Public Works Department has been working diligently to address these challenges. Areas worst affected include the vicinity of Cheyenne Trails, Wicks, Lore and Red Cloud. “Both public works and the parks department are working hard to clear the areas impacted by blowing tumbleweeds in town”, stated Clint Bunch Public Works Director on Monday. Cannon Air Force Base has also volunteered and is assisting city personnel. Due to the volume of tumbleweeds it may take personnel some time to clear the areas impacted.

Anyone blocked into their homes by the tumbleweeds are asked to call the City of Clovis Public Works Department at (575) 769-2376 for assistance.
