The City of Clovis Parks and Recreation Department provides many resources for Clovis residents to lead healthy and active lifestyles. Our mission is to provide well-maintained parks and recreational areas for our residents. We have more than 17 parks/recreational areas, encompassing 3,700 acres. 900 acres have been developed for recreational use. We have 5 youth baseball fields; 5 adult softball fields; 4 youth softball fields; 11 soccer fields; 2 youth football fields; 1 Rugby Pitch; 1 Cricket Pitch; 23 open play areas; 1 skate park; 3 outdoor basketball courts; 2 sand volleyball courts and a dog park. Additionally, we have a splash park, dog park, public pool, par 3 golf course, 18-hole golf course, and an indoor aquatic center to serve our community. Hillcrest Park
Hillcrest Park is 157 acres bordered by Sycamore, 14th, Norris and 7th Streets. This park provides lighted fields for baseball, youth football, and softball play, each equipped with restrooms. There are unlit playing fields and courts for soccer, tennis, volleyball and basketball. A dog park with separate areas for large dogs and small dogs is also available. The park has covered picnic tables and a walking trail. This park also has an indoor swimming pool with an aerobic workout facility (Clovis Aquatic Center) and a Splash Park. Hillcrest Park contains several facility rentals including the Joe & Charlene Sisler Youth Recreation Building (YRB) and the Sunken Garden botanical garden. Hillcrest Park is also home to many events and festivals throughout the year and the second largest zoo in New Mexico! Come visit us soon! The park is closed from 10:00 P.M. – 4:00 A.M.
Ned Houk Park
Ned Houk Park is located on Highway 209 North. There are 370-developed acres out of 3,200 acres available. This area provides 2 basketball courts (no net provided), 2 volleyball courts (no net provided), 2 ball fields, an archery range (must join club), a motor sports race track, trails for ATV vehicles and horses, a disc golf course, and a model airplane flying area (must join club). We have a bison herd at the park, and if you’re lucky, you will spot them on your way in! The park also has three lakes, and one is stocked with fish for recreational fishing. There are several picnic areas with playground equipment and restroom facilities, along with a large area with a band shell and tables. There are also 5 other covered pavillions available for rent. There are 6 table areas available for rent for birthdays, family reunions, squadron events and more! Also located in this park is the Old Homestead Museum and Pappy Thornton Farm Museum (available by appointment only). The Park is closed from 10:00 P.M. – 4:00 A.M.
Greene Acres Park
Greene Acres Park is located in the heart of Clovis at 21st Street, Main and Mitchell. Many amenities include 24 acres of open space with a lake that is stocked for bank fishing only. This park has one lighted tennis court, an 8/10 mile cement walking trail, a playground, a basketball court, and a skate park. The park is equipped with restrooms and a girl’s softball field. Several picnic tables and shelters are available. The Park is closed from 10:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M.
Bob Spencer Park
Bob Spencer Park is located at Echols and Lore. With 15 acres of open space, this area includes 2 lighted softball fields, a playground area, a rugby field, a cricket field, a concession stand and restroom facilities. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Dennis Chavez Park
Dennis Chavez Park is located at 14th and Hull with 10 acres of open space. This park has a lake stocked with fish for bank fishing only, a handicapped-accessible lighted playground, picnic areas with shelters, a ½ mile cement walking trail, and restroom facilities. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Potter Park
Potter Park is located at Upsilon and 7th Street. This 8-acre park contains Potter Pool (an outdoor swimming pool), tennis courts, basketball court, 1 youth football field, 3 little league baseball fields, restrooms, and a large shelter for picnics. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Rierson Park
Rierson Park is located at Hammett and Rierson. This park provides 6 acres of space with amenities that include a restroom, soccer field, play equipment, shelter, and baseball/softball practice field. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Highland Park
Highland Park is located at Main and Manana. This 4-acre park has a lighted ball field, restroom, playground, and picnic area. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Sunset Park
Sunset Park is located at El Camino and Bonita. This small 1-acre park has a playground, basketball court, and shelter. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Brady Field
Located on Brady Avenue, this park is leased from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and provides a ball field for summer and school use. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
14th Street Park
Located at 14th Street and Fairmont, this 4-acre park provides a grassed area with newly planted trees used for youth league practice and YMCA T-Ball league. CLOSED FROM 10;00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Colonial Park Golf Course
Located at 1300 Colonial Parkway, Colonial Park Golf Course is an 18-hole championship municipal golf course. The golf course includes a well-stocked pro shop, driving range, restaurant, and banquet rental space.
Goodwin Lake Walking Trail
The trail head entrance for Goodwin Lake Walking Trail is located at 3201 North Prince Street). With more than 40 acres of natural grass land, this open space is used as a nature walking or bicycling trail. It has a 1 and 1/8 mile paved trail around a playa lake. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Pat Sandoval Park
Pat Sandoval Park is located at 2nd Street and Rencher. This 1-acre area has play equipment, 2 tennis courts, a basketball area, and 3 shelters. CLOSED FROM 10:00 P.M. TO 4:00 A.M.
Roy Walker Community Center
Roy Walker Community Center is located at 316 West 2nd Street. This recreation center includes two full-sized gymnasiums that are used for youth, men, women, and mixed-league play in volleyball and basketball. Additionally, pickleball leagues and various other activities can be found in the Community Center. It also includes a fully equipped weight room, a multi-purpose room, and a boxing gym. Use of the facility is first-come, first-served and is offered FREE to the community.
