Beautification Encouraged by Building Safety’s Code Enforcement

Ensuring the city is free from weeds, debris, and rubbish in order to help promote development and beautification is the remit of the City of Clovis’ Code Enforcement Division. The five-person team, supported by a three-person Environmental Response Team are responsible for ensuring all properties within the city are in compliance with regulations regarding weeds, debris, rubbish, brush, and other objectionable, unsightly or unsanitary matter.

“I would like to remind area residents that keeping the city free of weeds, debris and rubbish, will improve our quality of life by improving the aesthetics of the city as stated in Chapter 8.16 of the Clovis City Code,” advised Code Enforcement Supervisor, Marcus Brice. “Eliminating a harbor for rodents, decreasing illegal dumping and littering, eliminating fire hazards, and deterring crime by increasing visibility and access, will promote the development and beautification of the city.”

With some of the recent rainfall, there are areas of the City in need of beautification from weeds and debris. As always, Code Enforcement will be contacting property owners for rectification prior to any enforcement action.

Let’s all do our part in keeping Clovis a safe and clean community. For questions please contact 575-769-7829 or email rroach@cityofclovis.org.
