Construction on North Thornton Street to be Completed by End of November

K. Barnett and Sons began work on North Thornton Street on Friday, October 15, 2021. Impacted residences and businesses were notified via mail. Currently the 21st/Thornton intersection is closed and will remain closed until the project is complete. The work will proceed on North Thornton, concluding at the intersection of North Thornton and Llano, and construction is anticipated, weather permitting, to be completed by the end of November.

Thornton Street will be closed as the work progresses northward. During this time, thru traffic on Thornton Street will not be allowed. In addition, other affected intersections include Llano Estacado/Thornton and North Prince/Wilhite. The work is part of the City of Clovis’ construction of the effluent reuse water pipeline. The public is asked to follow all detours during this time and to seek alternate routes.
