EXTENSIVE FLOODING AT CLOVIS CITY HALL

Clovis City Hall experienced extensive flooding Sunday afternoon, July 14th, 2013 due to a burst pipe in the former police department section of the building. The areas of the building impacted included Building Safety, Human Resources, the main hallways and parts of Municipal Court. The building is currently without water while repairs are made to the burst pipeline. The leak was found by a municipal court employee.

“I would like to thank the fire department and staff for assisting so quickly to help address this serious water leak Sunday” advised Clovis City Manager Monday. “The damage to the building is mainly to the carpets, caused by sand filled water entering the building. No vital records were lost as a result of the flooding. Repairs began yesterday and are ongoing. We do not have a cost for the repairs at this time but are dealing with this situation as an emergency.”

Plans for Clovis City Hall were completed in 1961 with the extension to the building for Municipal Court in 1974.
