Reminders about Temporary Sign Regulations

CLOVIS, NM (September 16, 2024) – As we enter the election season, residents and businesses are reminded of the City of Clovis Sign ordinance regarding the placement of temporary signs as follows:

Residential Districts (17.45.080, Section D, Subsection 4):

Temporary signs can be placed on a property up to 30 days before early voting and must be removed within 10 days after the election. Signs must not exceed six square feet and should be placed at least five feet from the curb or public right-of-way.

Commercial Districts (17.45.080, Section F, Subsection 4):

Similar rules apply, but signs can be up to 32 square feet.

Please remember that defacing, removing, or vandalizing temporary signs is a criminal offense, and offenders may face prosecution.
