Senior Services to Resume Indoor Activities at the Friendship Senior Center
Beginning Friday, April 16, 2021, the City of Clovis Senior Services will begin limited indoor activities in the recreation area of the Friendship Senior Center, located at 901 W. 13th Street in Clovis. Recently the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department released reopening guidelines for senior centers across the state. Senior Services received approval from the Clovis City Commission at Thursday night’s commission meeting to resume indoor activities in a limited capacity. See below for specific details regarding the reopening:
- The Friendship Senior Center will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. The center will be closed between 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. each day for cleaning and to allow staff to assist with the Curry Resident Senior Meals Association (CRSMA) lunch program.
- All staff, including volunteers, and participants must be screened daily, including temperature checks and reviews of COVID-19 symptoms.
- All staff, volunteers, and participants are advised to follow social distancing guidelines and wash their hands frequently. Proper signage will be displayed throughout the facility, and disinfecting procedures will be in place.
- No more than 30 patrons will be allowed in the recreation area, with a maximum of 6 patrons in the billiards area and 4 patrons in the sewing area.
