You’re Invited: Mayor’s Ball Check Presentations

Clovis, NM (December 6, 2023) – The City of Clovis is excited to extend an invitation to the press for two opportunities to witness Mayor Mike Morris presenting checks to two deserving beneficiaries of the 2023 Mayor’s Ball, the High Plains Humane Society and United Way of Eastern New Mexico.

The High Plains Humane Society will receive a donation of $15,134.38, and the United Way of Eastern New Mexico will be presented with $15,134.38. These contributions are a testament to the City’s commitment to supporting organizations that play a role in enhancing the well-being of our community.

The check presentation for the High Plains Humane Society will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 4:00 P.M at 608 W. 21st Street, Clovis, NM 88101. Mayor Mike Morris will present the check and share a few words about the impact of the High Plains Humane Society on our community.

The United Way of Eastern New Mexico will accept their check during the City Commission Meeting on Thursday, December 7, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Clovis-Carver Public Library in the North Annex and will provide an excellent opportunity for the press to capture the moment as Mayor Mike Morris reinforces the City’s commitment to supporting the important work of the United Way.

The Mayor’s Ball, now in its 13th year, is a community-driven event dedicated to supporting non-profit organizations. This commitment is exemplified by the City’s choice to benefit organizations such as the High Plains Humane Society and United Way of Eastern New Mexico. Attendees contribute to the success of this event through ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations, with all proceeds going directly to non-profits. These funds enable these organizations to continue their impactful work in the local community.
